Targeted Rates Insulation Scheme
EECA: Warm Up New Zealand - Healthy Homes
- Rental with tenant who has a community service card/community service card-endorsed SuperGold card _ 50% subsidy on the cost of the insulation
- Rental with a tenant who does not have a community service card _ 20% subsidy on the cost of the insulation
- Home owner with a community service card/community service card-endorsed SuperGold card _ 50% on the cost of the insulation (offer valid until 30 June 2018)
Targeted Rates Insulation Scheme
The New Plymouth District Council and the South Taranaki District Council allow rate payers to put the cost of Insulating their homes onto their rates with payments made over a number of years. Each Council
Maximum of $2,600- Payable over a maximum of 9 years
- 7% interest applied per year
- $200 NPDC set-up and administration fee applies
South Taranaki District Council
Maximum of $3,900- Payable over a maximum 9 years
- 7% interest applied per year
Rotorua Hot Swap Loan Terms
- The owner/ landlord can put up to $4600 inclusive GST of the cost of their insulation on their rates through the Hot Swap scheme
- The loan is paid back over 10 years with interest (6%).
- If a landlord/ owner occupier is eligible for a 50% EECA grant, and wants to put the remaining 50% loan balance on to Hot Swap, the balance must be $1,600 incl. GST or more.
- If they sell the property, and there is still an outstanding loan amount, they must pay it back to BOPRC in full, on the sale of the property.
